A ghost hunting adventure game made in 48 hours

Spooktective is a small puzzle, adventure game developed in 48 hours as part of the AIE April 2019 Game Jam. In the game, players must use a magical magnifying glass to speak with the ghostly inhabitants of a haunted manor in order to solve a murder.

Movement and Interaction

  • Created first person movement and camera controls for the player.

  • Setup interaction system for the player.

  • Setup a simple dialogue system for displaying text within the UI.

Shaders

  • Created stencil shaders for ghosts, paintings and particle effects that only show up inside the player’s magnifying glass
